When that happens, of course, any streaming I'm doing will cease. However, since my last Windows 10 update, my laptop will drop connection to my router. Not tried to connect hard wire to anything yet. I've encountered no issues with the Bose dropping any connection.
It was very simple to sync up to either device. No problems with bluetooth connection with my Motorola Droid mini or my laptop. I received a Bose Soundlink mini for Christmas and must say I'm blown away by it. I've got a ton of music on disk so having to re-upload the entire library into Sonos each time I added anything was going to be a pain. Oh, another drawback with Sonos (aside from the less than sterling sound) was that there was something about MusicBee's handling of mp3 metadata that wouldn't allow Sonos's controller to do a marginal import of the music that MusicBee ripped. Really ridiculously poor quality control. The replacement has now gone back for a second replacement. I sent it back and the replacement would not charge at all. The first one I bought was cutting off frequently. That's the third one I'm dealing with, a second unit purchased. I had this one hardwired to my computer and the sound wouldn't stay on continuously (even after disabling the auto-off feature) and now it's even stopped charging continuously when plugged in and sitting on the charging stand. I love the sound of the Bose but I'm either having incredibly bad luck or this is one of the finickiest electronic devices on the market.
I wound up sending the Sonos back and buying a Bluetooth adapter for my PC and an extra Bose Soundlink Mini II to connect to it via Bluetooth.
